Liverpool John Moores University held an event to celebrate diversity, inclusion and student futures during Black History Month. The event was hosted by the LJMU Student Futures team, with Waf Njojo Shaw FRSA, and involved staff and students. The student interns shared their own entertaining, inspiring and deeply moving stories. Dee Benson, who has written over 100 published books, some as a ghost writer and others more recently published in her own name, shared her own story. Sue Higginson OBE DL represented the Lord-Lieutenant as Keynote Speaker and was able to share some reflections of her work linked to widening participation in further and higher education. Sue noted that, “Liverpool John Moores University is changing lives and we are exceptionally fortunate that it is part of our Liverpool City Region.”
