Professionally, Peter’s career began in 2001 supporting the digital transformation of Health and Care organisations at local and national level within the NHS. Peter has since worked with a wide range of organisations in the public, private and third sectors, with his delivery and leadership experience spanning the United Kingdom and overseas, through a range of delivery and leadership roles, with organisations which range from startups to global corporations. Today, Peter work with Boards, Executive Teams and Delivery Teams as an Independent Advisor, supporting the delivery of ambitious digital transformation programmes.

Over the same period, Peter has undertaken leadership and Board roles in several local, national and international charities, primarily focused on supporting young people to get the best start in life. Locally, Peter’s voluntary work has involved supporting young people and volunteer teams across many communities, and has included developing successful collaborations between local charities, businesses and public sector organisations. Nationally, Peter’s volunteering has involved leading the development and implementation of national governance, strategies and support.

Peter was awarded the honour of Officer of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in His Majesty The King’s Birthday Honours 2023, commissioned as a Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside in 2023, and appointed by The King as His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County of Merseyside in December 2025.

Peter was born and has spent his whole life living in Merseyside, enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, walking, and watersports.
