Sue LFC Foundation event 26.3.26

Fundraising event at LFC Foundation

An impressive fundraising evening took place on 26th March, at Anfield Stadium, organised by the LFC Foundation, which  is the official charity of Liverpool Football Club.

Working in areas of high need and deprivation across the Liverpool City Region, the Foundation aims to deliver sustainable and long-term change, focused on  Improving health, championing learning and enhancing employability opportunities for all, to tackle social inequalities in our community.

Funds raised during the event will be shared between the LSC Foundation and the Lord Mayor of Liverpool’s Charity that has similar aims, specifically focused on the education, support and development of young people.

Deputy Lieutenant, Sue Higginson OBE was delighted to attend on behalf of the Lord-Lieutenant.

Sue thanked the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Barbara Murray and said:

‘It was incredible to see the warmth of community spirit celebrate the visit of Jurgen Klopp and other LFC legends, who attended specifically to support this charitable event.  Huge thanks to everyone who organised the evening, the many people who worked incredibly hard to make it a success,  and the volunteers who make a difference every day to improve the life chances of our young people. It is through their efforts that we can strive to ensure that all of our young people are able to access opportunities that can transform their lives through education, support and pathways to employment. Thanks to our  Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Barbara Murray, who has worked tirelessly throughout her mayoral year to champion this through her charity work.”
