Congratulations to Cllr Mary Jordan who was installed as our 2026/27  Mayor of Wirral yesterday evening 13th May 2026.  The ceremony will become part of Wirral’s civic history and as the Mayor is also the current Chair of Wirral Music Festival, it was even more special to enjoy the music and singing of local musicians, who showcased their talent.  With a commitment to making music accessible to all Wirral children and the announcement of The Mayor’s chosen charities this year as The Paul Lavelle Foundation and Wirral Carers, Wirral has a busy year ahead. 

Sue Higginson OBE DL attended the ceremony as a Deputy Lieutenant on behalf of  the Lord-Lieutenant, and said,

” … along with fellow DLs and volunteers, I am really looking forward to continuing to support the charitable and community work that the Mayor has planned throughout the year.
