Over the weekend Alex Rigby BEM and his team ran an incredible charity event; Running the Railways – 5k on the hour, every hour for 24 hours between Freshfield and Hightown Merseyrail stations – all in support of Centre 56!

The Lord-Lieutenant visited on the Friday evening when they were 20km in and going strong, and joined on the Saturday for the last leg!

Between them, 800 individual 5km runs took place over the 24 hours with over £24,000 raised for Centre 56.

Great work by Alex Rigby BEM for bringing this community together, everyone who took time to contribute one or more of those 800 runs, and to Merseyrail and all the partners and sponsors for your incredible support.
