Elektric Apple was founded in 2012 by Carol Darby after recognising the lack of opportunities for her daughter, Leanne, and other disabled people to pursue their passion for the performing arts. Since its formation, the organisation has become much more than a theatre company, providing a welcoming community where people with disabilities are empowered to develop confidence, creativity and lasting friendships through high-quality theatrical productions.

The organisation actively challenges perceptions around disability by demonstrating that performers should be recognised for their talent rather than defined by their condition. Alongside producing original theatre, Elektric Apple continues to campaign for greater inclusion within the performing arts and is working towards securing a permanent home for the company.

The production is a dark psychological thriller, and combines dramatic storytelling with powerful musical performances and showcased the considerable talent, professionalism and commitment of the cast.

The evening highlighted how thoughtful adjustments and an inclusive environment enable performers with a wide range of disabilities to take on leading roles with confidence. Rather than focusing on disability, the production celebrated creativity, ability and artistic excellence.
