Heswall Disabled Children’s Holiday Fund, run by volunteers, many of whom have been with the Fund for many years, are driven by a desire to provide opportunities for those children that might not otherwise be available to them, and to provide respite to their families.
Every year they host a camp, usually at Barnstondale, for up to 35 children aged 9-15. At the camp the children benefit from the independence it offers them. For many, this is the only time they spend away from home all year.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet some of the young people and hear what a fabulous time they had had during the week – including going ski-ing yesterday! Well done to all the team who work hard all year long to make this holiday possible and dreams come true!
