On Saturday, family and friends of Major Roy Bevan MBE gathered in Formby to thank him for his tremendous support to Merseyside life over so many years. Roy was presented with a Lord-Lieutenant Award for his service to Veterans and Other Charities; and his friends had also compiled Roy’s “This is Your Life”.

At 91, just last week, Roy attended his 53rd Annual Camp, with Merseyside Army Cadet Force.

With thanks to everyone involved in organising this surprise celebration for Roy. And thank you, Roy, for your incredible service. Merseyside is a better place because of you and your work. We’re proud of you.
