On Wednesday 1st April 2026 the Lord-Lieutenant attended the awarding of the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award to Tom Harrison House and Universal Tanker Solutions.
Tom Harrison House is an incredibly special place providing specialist residential addiction treatment programmes for UK Armed Forces serving personnel, veterans and emergency services personnel.
Universal Tanker Solutions, a family-owned company that has over 20 years of experience in the waste management industry, takes corporate social responsibility very seriously, supporting several charities, which include Tom Harrison House.
Both organisations do so much to support the UK’s armed forces’ community. It was a pleasure to meet veterans who have graduated from Tom Harrison House programmes, the volunteers and staff. You are all doing incredible and life changing work, and should be very proud.
