On Saturday Sue Higginson OBE DL attended the Family Fun Day organised by the Shaftes Youth Club and Wirral Deen Centre. The day was open to all and judging by the photographs a lot of fun was had and some delicious food eaten!
Sue said, “I was delighted to represent our Merseyside Lieutenancy‘s Lord-Lieutenant today at the Family Fun Day, organised by the Wirral Deen Centre and Shaftesbury youth club. Also attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wirral and local MP Alison McGovern .
“I enjoyed meeting so many families and hearing the excitement of children as they enjoyed the bouncy castles, sports and activities.
“Thanks to Ibrahim Syed and Wirral Deen Centre for your hospitality and generosity in organising this event and preparing food, including over 500 delicious meals for everyone to enjoy.
“Thanks also to Shaftesbury Youth Club who were recently awarded a King’s Award for Voluntary Service, for hosting the event in partnership with the Wirral Deen Centre. It was a truly spectacular event that harnessed the best of community partnership. Thank you so much to the many volunteers who made this possible, I am proud to be part of such a caring community.”
