Hands On! International Association of Children’s Museums Conference held in Liverpool.

This week Liverpool City Region hosted the Hands On! – International Association of Children’s Museums Conference, themed ‘Making a Difference ‘.

We welcomed people from 121 organisations and 26 countries, to celebrate the best of Museums and Cultural Organisations designed to help children learn through play.

Hosted by our very own Children’s Museum, Eureka Science + Discovery, they organised a fabulous three day event supported by National Museums Liverpool, to showcase our fantastic City Region.

During the event the prestigious Hands On! – International Association of Children in Museums Award Ceremony took place in the beautiful St George’s Hall Liverpool. Congratulations to the winning organisation, La Nube Children’s Museum from the City of El Paso, Texas  and all of the other organisations shortlisted, representing Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Hungary, and the UK, also joined by last year’s winners who had travelled from Mumbai to hand over the Trophy.

Well done to Eureka Children’s Museum for hosting this International Event.

Sue Higginson OBE DL represented the Lord-Lieutenant at the event and said, “I am proud to be a Trustee and NED of Eureka Children’s Museum and to also have the privilege of representing the Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside, who is His Majesty King Charles III’s representative in our county, to welcome delegates and celebrate the incredible work they do to inspire and develop children across the World. I very much enjoyed speaking with lots of people from most of the representative countries and hope to see them visiting Liverpool City Region again, in the future. Congratulations and thank you all for ‘Making a Difference’.”
