Hazel Snell

Originally from Northern Ireland, I developed a passion for partnership work and civic duty from an early age, building cross-community relationships and working in rural regeneration. I moved to Liverpool in 2000 and it quickly became my adopted home. Married to a passionate Liverpudlian I have two children and live in Hoylake.

I have worked at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) since 2011 in various roles. Currently Academic Faculty Manager for Clinical Sciences and International Public Health, my role is developing and leading strategy and academic planning across two departments. Working in LSTM has provided a platform to develop and promote equitable partnerships with multi-disciplinary research teams in Low-and Middle-Income Countries, in particular sub-Saharan Africa.

I am trustee and Chair of Local Solutions, a local charity covering Liverpool city-region and North Wales. With a wide portfolio of projects, the charity has a mission to transform social care, end homelessness and empower communities.
