Last night, 29th July 2026, the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service held one of their events to celebrate the achievements of 14 young people who had completed The King’s Trust Team Programme, and it was inspiring!

In presentations made by the young people, they shared their journeys, challenges and achievements. It is incredible the life-changing progress they made in 12 weeks!

Rebecca Ross-Williams represented the Lord-Lieutenant and was asked to prepare a speech. She gave them the illustration of the £7600 that The King invested in young people 50 years ago as a seed at the start of The King’s Trust, which now supports over 46,000 young people a year. Rebecca encouraged them to nurture and develop the skills and experience seeded in this programme, wishing them happy, fulfilled futures.
