The Order of St John (OSJ) is an order of chivalry of the British Crown and an international humanitarian charity best known for its work through St John Ambulance.

In partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant, the Order launched the Order of St John UK Award for Organ Donation in 2013. This award recognises the extraordinary gift made by deceased organ donors and the courage and generosity shown by their families. It is offered, by invitation, to all families in the UK whose loved one donated organs after their death.

At a regional ceremony, each family is presented with a specially designed badge and certificate honouring their loved one’s lifesaving legacy. These events are deeply emotional occasions, and it was a great honour to present the badge and certificate representing His Majesty The King. I hope this day will bring significant comfort and recognition to families.
