Peter Oliver OBE

Professionally, Peter has delivered complex, strategic digital transformation programmes. Peter’s career began supporting the digitisation of health and care organisations at local and national level within the NHS in 2001. Since then, Peter has worked with a range of organisations in the public, private and third sectors with delivery and leadership responsibilities that have spanned multiple countries. Although Peter’s experience is broad, he remains passionate about the significant opportunity that exists to transform how Health and Care services support citizen wellbeing, through the delivery of high quality and cost-effective models of care, and the role of digital in enabling this transformation. Today, Peter works with Boards, Executive Teams, and Delivery Teams as a Strategic Advisor to support the successful delivery of ambitious transformation programmes.

Over a similar period, Peter has held volunteer roles in several local, national and international charities, and a large Academy. Peter’s volunteering in Merseyside began in 1997 and through a range of roles, including significantly with The Scouts, Peter has led teams to support a greater number of young people across a greater number of communities to learn skills for life, with larger and stronger teams of volunteers, and through collaborative partnerships with charities, schools and businesses. Also at a local level, and for a significant period, Peter was a Governor and Chair of the Board of a large Academy. Nationally, Peter’s volunteering began in 2004 and saw the start of his journey leading the development and implementation of national strategy and support, again significantly with The Scouts. Today, Peter nationally supports The Scouts as a Trustee and Chair of Strategy and Delivery, leading governance to UK–wide operations and the implementation of the organisation’s Skills for Life strategy, and locally supports Merseyside Scouts as a Vice President and Trustee.
