Savera exhibition

Savera UK is a charity aimed at ending so called “Honour” based abuse.

The group organised an exhibition “Duality Vessels – Voices of Strength” which is now open at the Stable Gallery in St. George’s Hall.

The exhibition shares the lived experiences of women affected by female genital mutilation (FGM) and harmful practices, thoughtfully exploring the important distinction between culture and harm. It takes immense courage and bravery to speak about these experiences, and the women involved have done so with extraordinary strength.

What is especially powerful is how these stories are explored through art and creativity, transforming pain into something thoughtful, healing and hopeful. Natalie Reeves Billing DL attended on behalf of the Lord-Lieutenant and was honoured to speak at the launch about the role art can play in helping people process experiences, share stories and communicate difficult truths in ways that help others learn, understand, and ultimately help shape a better world.
