On Sunday we celebrated the 120th anniversary of the See Yep Association, one of the oldest Chinese community organisations in the UK, founded in Liverpool in 1906.

This remarkable milestone gave us an opportunity to reflect on 120 years of service, mutual support, friendship and community leadership. The Association was established by pioneers who came who recognised the importance of helping one another as they built new lives far from home. Through generations change and challenge, the Association has remained true to its founding values: supporting its members, preserving cultural heritage, strengthening links between communities and promoting understanding and cooperation.

Sunday was an opportunity not only to honour those who founded and sustained the Association over the past twelve decades, but also to recognise the younger generations who will carry its legacy forward.
