The Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram opened the new Spark Youth Hub today in Birkenhead at a very successful event attended by Pamela Brown MBE DL on behalf of the Lord-Lieutenant.
Spark provides practical support and guidance helping to break down barriers and create real opportunities for young people struggling to access work, training and business support. In the last four years Spark has supported over 700 young people into employment, apprenticeships and self-employment.
As well as Kevin Rogers, the CEO of Spark, we heard from Amber, one of the young people helped by Spark giving her own personal view of the warmth and support she received alongside the practical expertise and guidance.
Alongside the Metro Mayor, there were great speeches from the Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Brian Kenny, Rt.Hon. Alison McGovern MP and Pamela Brown, who has known the organisation from its inception in what was described as a “slightly less nice” location near Camell Lairds.
