St Paul’s Catholic Primary School, Beechwood, Wirral spent a morning learning about the history and heritage linked to our constitutional monarchy, and sharing some of the important work they do in the community, as part of our Lieutenancy’s Schools Programme. One of our Deputy Lieutenants, Sue Higginson OBE who delivered the programme, said,
“I was warmly welcomed by the Headteacher and two pupils who showed me an impressive, life size sculpture of the nativity, created from woven branches, that the children made at summer camp. Following this, I was treated to a beautiful ‘Song of Hope’ that the whole school assembly sang, accompanied on guitar, by their talented Headteacher, Mrs Fenna. I then visited ‘the 2s’ in the nursery before joining Key Stage 2, year 5 children and year 6, who specifically asked to be involved because since they joined our session last year, they had visited London and wanted to tell me all about it, since they had now seen first hand some of the things we cover in the session. I am so impressed with this school, its spirit of kindness and constant effort to be at the heart of their community, making a difference. Well done St Paul’s Catholic Primary School, I look forward to visiting again soon.”
