Her Majesty The Queen visited Spellow Library on 4th September 2026 to see for herself the way the community had restored it to its former glory. Her Majesty met children from St. Francis de Sales and Arnot St. Mary as well some young mums working with The Book Trust, Fire Officers and Police Officers involved in the disorder of 2024 which damaged the library, members of the library team and Alex McCormick who raised funds to restore the library.
It was an inspiring and uplifting visit and everyone was very grateful to Her Majesty for coming.
The visit to Spellow Library was followed by a visit to Speke Hall to meet members of the National Trust and Literacy Trust.
