The Worshipful the Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Brian Kenny and Mayoress Mrs. Helen Kenny hosted a civic reception at Wallasey Town Hall yesterday for the Wirral recipients of national honours in the New Year’s Honours List.
It was a pleasure to meet Tony Jones MBE, who received his honour for services to Maritime Safety, Richard Turner BEM who received his honour for services to the community in Thurstaston, Nuzia Bertali BEM who received her honour for services to UK-Italy Relations and the Community in the North West and Janice Monty BEM who received her honour for services to the Community.
All of these impressive people gave the most precious gift they can – their time – and their ability to connect people from across backgrounds, building skills and confidence and inspiring a sense of shared purpose and civic pride.
