Many thanks to Wirral CVS for inviting Deputy Lieutenants Sue Higginson OBE and Elaine Kinsella to the Wirral ‘Community of Practice’ event on Wednesday 9th September, to share some of the work we do at the Merseyside Lieutenancy.  

Sue and Elaine really enjoyed chatting to volunteers and hearing about the amazing work they do in our borough.  They were pleased to have an opportunity to highlight details of the King’s Award for Voluntary Service, which has just opened for the 2027 awards, as well as outline opportunities to apply for a grant from the Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund Merseyside which can provide contributions of up to £5000 to assist smaller voluntary and charitable organisations .
